Meet Cody, a charming pony and a true gem in the equestrian world. Approaching his 20th birthday, Cody stands at 14.2hh with a youthful spirit despite his age. Known for his gentle demeanor and boundless energy, he’s the ideal companion for beginner horse riding lessons and intermediate riders alike. Cody excels in teaching essential riding skills, focusing on flatwork/dressage and jumping fundamentals. His method emphasizes proper seat and leg positioning, enhancing both riding technique and rider-horse connection. Jumping is Cody's favorite pastime; he approaches each obstacle with enthusiasm, making lessons thrilling for those looking to improve their jumping skills.

Allow us to introduce Phoenix, our fantastic 11-year-old Gisborne bred standing at 15.2hh, who has quickly become the star of our stable at MK Equines. Phoenix is perfect for beginner and intermediate horse riding lessons, as his calming presence fosters confidence in new riders, whether they're focusing on flatwork/dressage or gearing up for exciting jumping lessons. With his gentle demeanor, Phoenix is skilled at teaching riders the fundamentals of balance and control, ensuring that each lesson is both educational and enjoyable.

With over 20 years of riding experience, I have deeply valued the special bond that forms with each horse. My time at pony clubs in both Australia and New Zealand has equipped me with a diverse range of skills on many different horses and ponies. I have a passion for eventing, competing at Pre-Novice (105cm) level, and have also enjoyed show jumping up to 110cm and achieving 6th place at Level 3 Dressage at HOY. I've participated in various activities, including gymkhanas, sporting and mounted games. As a well-rounded rider with extensive knowledge and experience, my goal has always been to inspire young riders to embrace the excitement and joy of horse riding.
